The D minor scale is the most popular key for handpans so it is most commonly the one people choose to start with. It also plays well with the F major scale. 

Several handpan makers have emerged in recent years, resulting from a growing worldwide interest in the instrument. The design is based on the Trinidadian steelpan, Indian ghatam, Thai gong and Indonesian Gamelan.

The instrument has been played in the islands of Indonesia for generations, and these instruments come from a family of craftsman who have been passing down their skills for a very long time. 

The instrument comes with a case with shoulder straps for easy transport.
